Short answers to the questions that come up most.
Is it really free?
The app is free to use. We do not run the models, so the expensive part is not ours to charge for — you pay OpenRouter for tokens at their rates and we take no cut. If a paid option ever appears it will be for extras rather than for what is here now. See the estimator →
Who owns what I write?
You do. We claim no rights over it and do not train on it. See the terms.
What am I allowed to write?
We impose no genre or content rules of our own. In practice the limits are the ones set by whichever model you choose — each provider has its own policies, and they differ a lot. Our acceptable use policy covers only what is illegal or abusive.
How long can a novel be?
Up to 500 chapters per novel, and 50 novels per account.
Can I write more than one novel at once?
Yes, and up to three generations can run at the same time across them.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes — the writer collapses to a single column with the chapter list in a drawer. Long-session writing is nicer on a larger screen, but nothing is missing.
Can I use it offline?
No. Generation needs the model provider, and your work is saved server-side.
Is my writing private?
Your novels are yours and are not shown to anyone else. Chapter text is sent to the model provider you choose in order to write the next chapter — their policies apply to that. Hidden novels add a PIN and stay off your dashboard entirely. See the privacy policy.
Can I import a novel I have already started?
Not yet as a bulk import. You can paste existing chapters in by creating each one and editing its text by hand, which does give the model the full history.
